Two individuals, identified as Ambassa Garrado and Daraje Garrado, were reportedly subjected to brutal acts of violence, allegedly perpetrated by state agents, on June 23, 2025.

These developments come amid a broader context of political tension and instability in the region. The Oromo Liberation Army, which some of the militias claim association with, has been involved in various conflicts with state forces in the past. The recent events represent a potential escalation in the ongoing conflict. The arrest and alleged torture of community leaders, mass arrests, and the rising tensions have sparked outrage among local populations, human rights groups, and the broader Oromo community. They argue that such acts of violence and intimidation are not only unlawful but also detrimental to the peace and stability of the region. The ongoing unrest serves as a stark reminder of the pressing need for peace, stability, and respect for human rights in the region. It is a call to action for all stakeholders to take decisive steps to address these concerns and work towards achieving a peaceful and stable environment for all residents.
